Tamir Welfare Organization (Tamir)

Tamir is a community development and welfare organization established on January 1, 1996, with a strong commitment to empowering marginalized communities. Registered under the Social Welfare Department (Government of Punjab) with the registration number 485/DDSW & WD/FSD/96, Tamir has been providing quality services in inclusive education, social rehabilitation, health, WASH, rehabilitation, and economic empowerment since its inception.

Vision:

Our vision is to create a society where marginalized communities and individuals with disabilities enjoy equal rights and equal opportunities to realize their potential. We strive to be a leader in advocating for social inclusion, specializing in economic empowerment, promoting abilities, and fostering a barrier-free society with equal opportunities for all.

Mission:

Tamir’s mission is to empower people with disabilities to improve their quality of life and advocate for the removal of barriers hindering their full participation. We are driven by a strong commitment to social welfare, inclusivity, and community development.

Objectives:

• Strengthening rural and urban communities through self-reliance project activities.
• Promoting the self-determination of community members, especially economically disadvantaged women, children, and individuals with disabilities.

Constitutional Commitments

• Humanitarian Services: Empowering lives through humanitarian services and emergency relief in Pakistan. Committed to providing support during crises, we have delivered vital aid in Covid-19 pandemic and floods relief efforts. Additionally, we have organized food distribution during Ramadan, conducted health camps, and supplied essential medical resources. With a strong dedication to serving communities in need, we strive to bring relief, sustenance, and healthcare access to those facing challenging circumstances.
• Education and Training: Establishing schools and training centers to provide quality education, vocational training, and skills development opportunities, equipping individuals with the tools they need for personal and professional growth.
• Education For Brick Kiln Workers: Brick kiln workers, often marginalized, face limited access to educational opportunities. Providing education for them is pivotal to break the cycle of poverty, empower them with knowledge, and uplift their living conditions. Additionally, educating the workers aids in improving their work safety, rights awareness, and overall well-being. Ensuring education for their children can further ensure a brighter, more prosperous future for the next generation.
• Support for Orphanages: Extending support to orphanages, providing care, education, and a nurturing environment for children without parental support, ensuring they receive the necessary care and opportunities for a bright future.
